Angel's Envy Cask Strength Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels (2018 Edition)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 12, 2019For the $200 price tag you expect a lot. Unfortunately this is a complete miss by angels envy. I was hoping for some complexity given the price tag. Too one dimensional. I will not be purchasing anymore limited editions from angels envy.200.0 USD per Bottle -
This is my personal favorite everyday sipper. You can’t go wrong with this. It’s not going to wow you with it’s complexity or intricacies but it’s one any level of bourbon drinker can enjoy. It’s a great intro to consumers who want something sweet but enjoy classic bourbon flavors and the connoisseur enjoy as a solid sipper without breaking into their limited releases. It has the classic bourbon notes, oak, vanilla, Carmel and a touch of rye spice at the end. What I love about it is the honey and full body mouthfeel you get in the $20 price range. It has a medium finish to it which again at $20 you can’t go wrong. It’s just a solid every day sipper. Pick it up if you’ve never tried it.

Angel's Envy Cask Strength Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels (2018 Edition)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 20, 2018Had this in a blind taste test and in conclusion was very disappointed in it. The nose was very reminiscent of normal stuff so I knew it was angels envy. I was very disappointed with this release. It was smooth for such a high proof but was incredibly dry and one dimensional. It didn’t have near the complexity one would expect for a limited release and the price in which you pay. If you’re going to expect the consumer to pay $200, it better blow your normal stuff out of the water. In the end it failed to do this. It wasn’t even close to the complexity you expect out of a limited release. In fact it wasn’t complex at all. I did add a little water to it after I had the first few sips which did open it up and brought out more Carmel flavors. All in all was very disappointed in this and would advise people to pick up the normal angels envy and skip this.200.0 USD per Bottle -
Wild Turkey Longbranch
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 11, 2018 (edited December 13, 2018)Starts off as a typical wild turkey profile than finishes with a slight smoky flavor to it. Very enjoyable. It has a slight spice to it which I enjoy and feels a little bit like butter in the mouth. I wish it wasn’t $40 and more along the $30. it’s a great easy to drink every night sipper in the $30 ball park but at $40 it’s a stretch. If someone put Russell’s reserve 10 year and this in front of me I’d choose Russell’s. Both are great bourbons but Russell’s is giving me a better value.40.0 USD per Bottle -

Henry McKenna 10 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 29, 2018 (edited February 6, 2019)It’s an ok bourbon. There’s better ones in this price range. I bought it because of how well it’s been rated recently but would rather Elijah Craig over this. It’s the same mash bill Will I buy it again, no
