Glen Scotia 15 Year
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed May 24, 2024 (edited June 25, 2024)Insane flavor. The salty chocolate pretzel dipped in honey is a good way to describe with a vanilla citrus after taste. Funny how these flavor combos/descriptions are acceptable with whiskey but not so much when describing food. -
Ezra Brooks Kentucky Straight Bourbon Distillers Collection TW&M Barrel No# 8040035
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed May 23, 2024This one needs to open up a bit and does best neat. Might even make a good mixer. Ice brings out a bitter tanic flacor that I didnt like. If it sits a while some of the ethanol flavors are tamed as well. Tried a sample in store from a half full bottle that had been open a bit and it was phenomenal for a $36 bottle. Tried a fresh pour from a new bottle and got more ethanol and bitter flavors than I got from the original taste36.0 USD per Bottle -
I get the apply pear fruity part and for sure rhe salty briny part but i dont get the peat flavors or maybe its so well done it doesnt smack you in the face like a laphroig or similar. Great stuff. I get the reason for the hype. Im a no peat sherry type of person and this one def opened my eyes to other styles of scotch.
