Bottle kill and last taste. I started off pretty high on this bottle, but it lost a bit of it's shine toward the end. Although this is a very enjoyable pour, I can't say it has anything that stands out from other bourbons at similar and even lesser price points. This was a good bottle, and I'm glad I had a chance to enjoy the uniqueness of this single barrel offering.

WhistlePig Old World Cask Finish Rye 12 Year
Rye — Indiana (bottled in Vermont), USA
Reviewed May 2, 2021 (edited August 7, 2021)Bottle kill tonight and final thoughts on my bottle of Whistle Pig 12 year finished rye. Even though this is a lower proof, it has tons of flavor and complexity. My only complaint is the price point, and that seems to be an issue across the board with Whistle Pig offerings. This was gifted to me, but I doubt I would drop the cash to buy it for myself. This was a terrific bottle, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for another gifting.129.99 USD per Bottle -
Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series 2021 FAE-01
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 30, 2021 (edited May 2, 2022)The color is copper like a new penny. The nose is sweet oak and apple. Rich sweet carmel and toffee hits first on the tongue. I get bit of dark chocolate as I pull the sip in further. There is a nice toasted oak note near the finish with just the lightest touch of leather. There's definitely some complexity in this pour, though my taste buds are not highly trained enough to pick them all out. The finish leaves a nice tingle in your mouth, but even at the higher proof there's no lingering burn as this one goes down the hatch. This reminds me just a bit of Weller 107, which is also wheated, similar proof, and delicious. This one will definitely be added to my favorites list.65.0 USD per Bottle -
Heaven Hill Bottled In Bond 7 Year
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 27, 2021 (edited December 2, 2022)Just happened to have a pour of 1792 bib before this, and I must say between the two the 1792 would be my pick. Heaven hill 7 year bib is a fine bourbon, but not much better than it's much cheaper younger brother Heaven hill 6 year. I think there are better bourbons at lower prices than Heaven Hill bib 7 year. Nothing wrong with this bourbon, just doesn't offer anything special.49.99 USD per Bottle -
Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 25, 2021 (edited May 27, 2021)Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit is amber-gold in the glass. Mostly Ethanol on the nose, maybe a bit of toffee. This hits sweet right from the start. I get some burned caramel, vanilla, and a little charred oak. The classic Wild Turkey funk is there, but diminished. The sweetness carries from beginning to end,and this one finishes fairly short with just the right amount of heat. This one sips really nicely. I like it a lot. Infact, as soon as I'm done typing I'll be getting another pour.40.0 USD per Bottle
