grape, refreshing berry, hi pep, creamy complex, oak, vanilla, apple 3 thick, creamy, refreshing berries, cherries, load and loads of eur oaky, coffee - chocolate, dark choco 3.25 oaky, choco 2.75 3 red berries, mid pep, cherry, creamy, chocolate, vanilla 3 sweetness huge red berries, and grapes, creamy muted bitter cocoa beans, you get this nice chocolate engulf your mouth, sweetness and cherry 3 high sustained not so much soot that would suggest from a octomore, i feel more you get a mellow peat 3 - this isn't so much of a peaty whisky but more of a cherry/red/european oak influenced type of whisky 3

mid pep, pear, peaty, smokey, apple, creamy, thick, iodine 2.5 sweetness, oily, a little bitterness/sour, oaky, 2.25 oaky, high sustained medical 2.25 2.25 high pep, creamy , apple, peach moldy, metallic, peaty, nail polish, complexity, rich, peaty sooty, campfire, , sweetness, 2.5 vanilla, creamy, oaky, high high peaty and soot, camp fire, this is probably one of the most sooty and peat heavy whisky that I've tried to date , iodine medicinal, saltiness, 3 >>> mark it down to 2.75 for the considerable medicinal notes that i get 2.75 high peaty sooty long sustain 2.75 2.5

Reviewed July 31, 2021 (edited June 25, 2022)iodine, medicinal, briny, vanilla, dryness, oaky , high pep, 2 saltiness, peaty, woody smokey, herbal, medicinal, quite a nice meaty finish, 3.25 oaky woody tannin, mid sustain, 2.25 2.5 medicinal, strong herbs, dried peat, sooty, high pep, 10yo similarity, red berry, oaky - feels like the laphroaig is beginning to wear off me 2 complexity, strong and herbal, medicinal, iodine, oily, mid pep, peaty, tinge of sweetness and more powerful bitterness, saltiness (but it is completely bearable and balanced) 2.75 mid sustained, peaty, soot bitterness 2.25 2.25 -

Reviewed July 28, 2021 (edited August 20, 2021)sweetness, berry, mid-high pep, grapes, complexity 3 sweetness, berry, pleasant but one dimensional, oaky, saltiness 2 oaky woody 2 2.25 flat, lacks depth, some sweetness, high pep, candy, mellow 1 flat, sour, some sweetness, low pep, lack complexity but it is generally a very gentle drink that i can imagine those that hate the taste of whisky might enjoy. But not for me though, not the character that i sought for 1 low sustain, cough syrup 1 -

high pep, dry, fruity, berry cherry, creamy, 1.5 bitterness, oaky, woody, high in tannin, caramel, vanilla, dryness, harshness 1.5 woody oaky mid pep 1 1.25 thin, paper, cardboard, lacks any character, high pep, some sweetness, apple and apricot 1 taste has more complexity than the nosing suggested, sweetness and elegance, nutty and raisins, quite a nice feel and balance - sweetness and saltiness, i get hint of grape influence 3 high sustained, mild mild peatiness, sweet oak 2.75 2.25

Lagavulin 9 Year (Game of Thrones-House Lannister)

Reviewed July 19, 2021 (edited September 22, 2021)distinct laga character, more roundness to this, high pep, strong character, high pep , apple pear, sweetness 2.75 bitterness, very thin and flat, you do not get complexity with this but towards the tail end you get mild characters of laga, the front of this is flat underwhelming and not a great experience though - bitterness, oaky if you really like thin young whisky - this is for you 1 flat, oaky, bitterness 1 laga 9 year GOT very little resemblance to lagavulin (cherry sweetness), and you also get some resemblance of muskiness, dryness, mid pep high pep 2 1.5 butteriness, delicate, herbal, grassy, some peatiness and no meaty taste to this 1.5 oaky mid sustained 1.5 1.5
