Sweet light fruit, light malt or baking crust notes, with light toffee notes. This is a very easy drinking Scotch with enough going on to enjoy neat.

This bottle evolved all the way through and ended as a great, full sherried Scotch. Rich, a little chocolate, and fairly sweet on the nose. The palate is creamy, light fruit, baking spices with a bit of nut and good malt. The finish brings out slightly musty oak, which balances the sweetness well.

Eau Claire is a fantastic craft distillery. I was very excited when I saw the price on this release thinking, finally an affordable Eau Claire! Working through the bottle, I must say it is a bit metallic on the palate, and the flavours are mostly general Canadian sweet, light, approachable whisky. If you don't get the metallic note, I think this would end up being a great Canadian. As it is, it's very similar to Forty Creek Copper pot.

I appreciate that this distillery is trying to release smaller batch, quality Canadian whisky. For me, this fall short of the richness I am looking for. Corn sweetness, a bit of butter, caramel and a wisp of spice. Overall, sweet and easy. A little artificial or aspertame note for me too. Hopefully their next release will be better.

Not bad and definately adds more oak to the general Jim Beam release. Still, I wanted more for the extra dollar amount.

This is a favourite Rye. Dark, rich, almost creamy. There is good spice too, and a bit of rye grain note, but the edges have been rounded out and it makes for a fanastic sipper. A must for any rye fan at some point on their journey.

If you are a Lot 40 fan, this is a must purchase. Wonderful Rye. Bold, spicy, and rich with fruit. I feel it moves farther down into the fruit, cherry notes than the regular Lot 40. Sometimes it comes up to me as a bit artificial.

This is priced higher than it should be, but with time I have started to enjoy this. It is bright, fruity, with a little spice. It is a little too aromatic in the nose for me, but the finish brings out some good Sherry notes.

Easy drinking, the smoke or peat somes off a little sour for me. A bit like vinigear and black olive. I don't mind this dram, but it's just not great for me.

I enjoy this release, and for the price, it is rather good. There is some flavour to the peat, some pepper, a light caramel and fades away to a pleasant smoke. Critically it a bitter or metalic taste that might offend some.
