John Barr Blended Scotch is a must have on hand for me. First off the price point is terrifying at $35 for 1.75L. One would expect something very rushed and rough. This scotch is very deceiving though. While this is not a highly refined drink it is however very drinkable. It has the flavor profile of a mild scotch with very little smoke. But will also appeal to the irish whisky drinking friend by having a slightly sweet and buttery finish. The blend seems to fall pleasantly in the middle of both courts. Not a good choice for the first drink of the night but great to have around for the all night laugh sessions.35.0 USD per Bottle

Redbreast 12 year is a bit of a conundrum. A true and proper single pot still whisky that seems to have multiple personalities. The nose is full with the sherry casks providing plum and cherry smells. The taste is truly an experience. The front has amazing flavors of a spicy red wine before giving in to a beautiful shortbread cookie irish whisky. For no other reason that the taste experience everyone should try this whisky once in their lives.60.0 USD per Bottle

Jameson Blenders Dog is the second release in the distillers series. This is not as successful of an attempt. The typical flavors of a good irish single pot still are present but an unexpected bitterness on the back end. detracts. Still a proper Irish Whisky but not the best showing.65.0 USD per Bottle

Coopers Croze is the beginning of the Distillers Special series from Jameson. CC has a beautiful sweet vanilla smell. Very full nose and flavor. The taste is very subtle caramel covered green apple. The flavors are so balanced and pronounced without being overbearing. A truly enjoyable drink crafted by masters who know what they like.65.0 USD per Bottle

Green spot is a very dangerous purchase. At this price point you are suddenly thrust into the beginning of a single pot still journey. Light toffee and green apple nose with a very similar taste. The taste lingers just a little longer than you would expect but vanishes quickly. This amazingly drinkable whisky will show you how Irish Whisky was meant to taste.70.0 USD per Bottle
