Tastes

Had this at a pub after dinner, neat in a smallish tumbler. I got overpoured like crazy, this isn’t a bar that serves a lot of whisky, in fact I think this was the only scotch they had. The flavours were similar to the 10 but maybe a bit more subdued. Not sure this is representative of QC really. Enjoyed it, but mostly the size of it.

The first time I tasted this it felt like drinking gasoline and I wasn’t sure I loved it. Now, it tastes like I am drinking gasoline and I am absolutely certain that I love it.

I get a very distinctive honey dew melon note from the nose. Taste is more of a mellow juicy honey flavour. Very sweet throughout but not unenjoyable. Finish is very short and bright, crisp like a dry white wine.

After a couple of Tennent’s I gave this a go. Bright and bold!

Fruity in the extreme, very pungent (as you might expect). I got a very strong maple flavour which really is just not for me.

Much like the 12 in character but with significantly more punch. Still light on the tongue and not too much to take in but a lot more substantial. The iodine notes stuck out as the most distinguishing flavour.

Mellow, almost to a fault. Toasty in a good way!

Very fruity and sweet. Lots of vanilla. Brings to mind an apple pie filling. Not always in the best way but still very drinkable. No detectable smoke or peat to speak of.
