Aberlour 12 Year Double Cask Matured
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed February 26, 2021 (edited March 4, 2021)First taste. Light and fruity with a little bit of sweet cream. Worth revisiting. -
Tasting profile is probably vanilla and sweet. Vanilla on the nose with a hint of citrus and smoke. Palate is similar with a rich vanilla/butterscotch and just a small hint of smoke. Great value to have on hand for the bottom shelf. Not complex enough to wow but nice mellow flavours and smooth mouthfeel.

Knob Creek Small Batch Bourbon (NAS)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 8, 2021 (edited February 28, 2021)Classic bourbon. A bit of pepper/spice with the higher proof. Typical vanilla/caramel notes stand out more than in other bourbons. Would make a nice mid shelf option. -

Laphroaig 10 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed February 8, 2021 (edited February 28, 2021)First taste. Strong smoke and a little brine. A tiny bit acrid. Will have to revisit with more experience. Interesting and worth a try but I don’t think I would be reaching for it. Complex.
