Del Maguey Chichicapa Mezcal
Mezcal Joven — Oaxaca, Mexico
Reviewed May 31, 2023 (edited June 8, 2023)Very complex and tasty mezcal. A nice grapefruit, specks of floral notes, roasted pineapple sweetness that then turns into a mesquite/juniper wood notes. Mango skin, clay, chili pepper and wood smoke follow near the end. The finish is somewhat medium length, with a solid amount of minerality and smokiness.73.0 USD per Bottle -
El Destilador Clásico Blanco Tequila
Tequila Blanco — Mexico
Reviewed May 31, 2023 (edited June 8, 2023)Solid tequila for the price. You get the standard citrus and herbal agave flavors your looking for in tequila. The finish is a little hot but it’s not something I’d consider a shot tequila, Definitely a good mixer. Highly recommended for Paloma or margarita -
Corralejo 1821 Extra Añejo Tequila
Tequila Extra Añejo — Guanajuato, Mexico
Reviewed May 29, 2023 (edited June 8, 2023)A nice oakiness in the beginning, dashes of vanilla, hay, very light notes of caramel before a bit of agave herbality, then back to the savory, clean and smooth flavor. The finish is short and smooth as can be with a dash of baking spice. A solid extra anejo.130.0 USD per Bottle -
Super weird one here. Don’t see this agave a lot around liquor stores. Sweet, floral in the beginning which quickly turns to some real strange flavors. Grapefruit, herbality, a dark cocoa, hints of dark espresso, maybe even some wasabi? The finish is relatively short, slightly sweet, low almost negligible amounts of smoke (not a bad thing), lacking minerality and is heavy on the cocoa. is this an everyday drinker like an espadin? I probably couldn’t, but what I will say is it’s a super strange mezcal that I can say I enjoyed trying at least once!43.0 USD per BottleSpec's Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods

Tullibardine The Murray Triple Port Cask Finish
Single Malt — highland, Scotland
Reviewed May 21, 2023 (edited June 8, 2023)Cereal and brown sugar to start, then transforming into some toffee, caramel, oak, with the later notes being intense notes of sweet red and dark fruit, a very apparent port finish. the finish has the characteristic high spice of Tullibardine with the aforementioned intense port sweetness. This is definitely a dram for a guy with a sweet tooth, and the spiciness may be reminiscent to some rye sippers.55.0 USD per Bottle
