Nose. Vanilla and ginger. Palate. Light, creamy and a nice hit of peat/smoke. Finish. Medium. Some smoke lingers and a peppery, spicy warmth develops. This is a decent NAS whisky that should satisfy peat fans. It’s lacking some depth and complexity but for what you pay it’s a nice drink. I much prefer the more expensive The English Heavily Smoked, however that benefits from an age statement and for being bottled at 46%.

Nose. If you enjoy Laphroaig you know what you’re going to get here. There’s the usual ‘medicine cabinet thrown onto a beach bonfire’ (although less medicinal than the 10) but mixed with luscious dried fruits and a hint of orange (the Sherry cask influence). Mouth. Oily and rich with a burst of stewed fruit and soft spice. It then dries up, leaving a minerally, smoky Laphroaig flavour. Palate. Medium-long, peppery warmth. Edit: On my second glass I got more oak on the nose as well. Beautiful whisky.
