Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 17, 2021 (edited January 2, 2022)It’s a 5/5 every time. The more top shelf bourbons I have the more I grow to love this one. The proof is great, price is great, and most importantly the flavor is great. In my opinion it out performs Stag Jr. and Jack Daniels single barrel barrel proof. -
Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Strength Tennessee Whiskey
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA

I am conflicted. When I first had this I was wildly disappointed, but this is growing on me like ivy on a cathedral. At first it was just a very sweet thin whiskey. Now it’s still sweet, but spicy. Still sweet, but grassy like the grasses of the southwest. Maybe it’s because I love the west and live in the Texas hill country, but I’m loving this whiskey. Overall Wyoming small batch tastes like vanilla, cracked black pepper, the liquid from a maraschino cherry jar, licorice, and grass.

So first off this is a barrel proof for $35, so I won’t complain too much. This is honestly some real bang for your buck. It’s clearly young, but fortunately it does have a good flavor. It’s sweet, and has notes of hay, cherry, and a wood I can’t place right now. To me it honestly tastes like quail hunting in the Texas Hill Country. If this whiskey is priced around $35usd near you, I’d recommend giving it a buy.35.0 USD per Bottle
