Toasted twizzler nose gives way over time to caramel malt with a dash of spice. Soft and light bady hits the pallet and explodes into a viscous puff of peated sweetness. A hint of spice lingers. A steal for the price.

Cinnamon basil with with hint of oak on the nose. Light bodied with a soft weight thar melts into apiced golden apple served on a cedar plank.

Further aging would take this to a higher level. Can absolutely taste the ex bourbon and sherry cask notes, but guessing it is too young because of the lack of balance. This is the first non Canadian whiskey that finishes like a mid range Canadian whiskey. It skirts the line between meh and make it a double.

As described. Smoke is never my jam. This was poured for me by mistake and i had to post a review because i think it is underrated. For the money, if peat smoke is your thing, along with the lingering tongue tingle, you couid do worse. It’s engaging and drinkable.

Bread pudding with a tad of ethenol and faintest hints of the time spent in ex boubon casks. Light bodied in the mouth with dry, cabernet notes trying to break free. A hint of cinnamon and flash of dankness on the finish.

Super enjoyable pour. Just a splash of water opens up the nose beautifully — revealing hints of vanilla and jam. It’s oily and smooth on the palate, with a touch of berries coming through. The real payoff is the spice on the medium finish, where bold maraschino cherry notes take center stage. Easily a daily sipper if you’re into sweet, spicy profiles with lingering cherry.

I can’t help but wonder if the experience varies from bottle to bottle. On the nose, I mostly get a sharp hit of alcohol. There’s a quick flash of stout and hint of coffee on the palate, but it fades fast into a short, unremarkable finish. I have friends who enjoy it over ice, but personally, it didn’t quite land for me. That said, I’m open to giving it another shot.

Agree, mostly, with the expert review, but I definitely get some dark fuit undertones (plum) and only the faintest hint of smoke in the finish. Balance defines this one as does complexity. Instant top 10 for me, possibly top 5. Truly outstanding and gets better as you get into a second dram.

Underrated. Caramel toffee sitting atop overripe berries on the nose. Viscous and spicy on the pallet, sweet too. Spice, heat and a hint of smoke on the finish.

Amazing how batches can vary and this is one i would buy. So happy i gave it another go! This is batch 37
