Nose: mild oak and smoke, moderate sweet vanilla and cherries
Palate: initially alcohol up front and smoke on the back end without any complexity and quite thin bodied, once let to breathe getting cool vanilla notes and smooth spices on the way down.
After revisiting this multiple times not blown away to be honest. But for the price not a bad bottle to keep on your bar. Save for the acquaintances...
1792 Small Batch bourbon hits the nose with a fairly strong alcohol smell. The initial taste is slightly sweet with a faint hint of cinnamon. A bold, spicy rye flavor on the palette, with a strong finish that tastes of oak, char, and leather and it lingers. The aftertaste is slightly bitter. Probably not one of my favorites, but I did enjoy it on the rocks with a splash of water.
This is a pretty darn good bourbon. I got some fun s’mores vibes on the nose. Cinnamon and allspice, mixed with light chocolate and a bit of smoky marshmallow. More of the same, mixed with some caramel and orange peel on the palate. Solid.
