BLIND TASTING
Nose: hint of peat, maybe sherry
Taste: rich, savory, smoky, barbecued wood, hint of iodine, warm, full. Toasted marshmallow. Can’t quite pinpoint the distillery. Could be kilkerran heavily peated. It is a nice warming dram for a cold winter night, would enjoy on repeated occasions but not in a hurry to get a bottle
Quality peated whiskey with scents of oak, butter, over ripe banana, allspice, vanilla, salt. The taste is upfront with strong peat reminiscent of Scotch. The Peay is center focus with menthol and smoke. Medium heat and finish. It is very tasty and thoroughly enjoyed.

Muted and subtle compared to an islay but you could sip this thing on a hot summer day (as I am currently) and it doesn’t seem overwhelming and out of place.
But simple and lightly peated (relatively). Light and straightforward!
