It has been awhile since i last had this and i remember when i had it about 3-4 years ago I thought the port barrel finish made the bourbon too sweet. This time around I went in with an open mind and now I feel the barrel sweetness is not as pronounced and impactful. I still think it's a decent pour, but nothing too spectacular about it.
I'm finding some interesting nutty, almost salty notes today with this dram. It still has that traditional creamy, blueberry note but there's some more stuff revealing itself. A really creamy fruity note on the palate with a really lovely dark caramel finish. It honestly reminds me of the milk left over after you eat Fruity Pebbles if you added whiskey to it. Turns out that's something I really needed in my life.
