Atlantico follows a somewhat unique system for their rum production. The brand, which has partnered with pop singer Enrique Inglesias, incorporates several styles of rum into their final product. Atlantico Platino is a blend of rums distilled from cane juice, as well as those based from molasses. Each is aged separately, before being blended together, and then re-aged for a lengthy marrying period. The rum received a package update in 2017.

Tasting Notes

"The nose showcases some heat, with rubbing alcohol coming to the front. This masks back notes of caramelized bananas and brown sugar. The palate is oily, slippery even, with mineral and earthy flavors, a bit of funk, and light vanilla and citrus flavors. The finish is hot and crisp, affirming that this one is best left for mixed drinks."
