Auchentoshan Three Wood

Really interesting. You taste the sherry and scotch notes but the cherry wood really comes through too. Very essy drinking, very little bite, but still enjoyable.

Definitely on the sweeter side but feels balanced. Seems a lot like a rye whiskey, like the 1910 but with more of a scotch flavor.

A fair amount of vanilla custard in the nose, a whiff of bourbon, citrus. On the palate, nutty and citrus up front. There's something a little rough around the edges, but that passes quickly and moves into a sticky sweet finish. Time in the glass softens the rough edges to some degree. Not bad at all, but not a favorite.
