Balcones Texas Pot Still Bourbon

On the nose, vanilla, corn, and caramel. On the tongue, popcorn, vanilla, and chocolate with a short and dry finish w/ little to no burn.

Would not buy again

The finish has a lingering aftertaste from several tastings that has ruined this for Me

Sweet nose. Heavy vanilla and a bit of corn. Tasting starts with vanilla and opens into more sweet corn and some sort of grain. Light baking spices finish into almost a semi sweet chocolate. Overall a great bourbon. I don’t like my bourbons too sweet so this one is great. I wouldn’t say it is smooth, necessarily, but at 92 proof it’s still great. Second Balcones whiskey I’ve had and it will not be the last.

I know others don’t like this but I really do for whatever reason. I like the more leathery flavor. But I can say it screws up my palate for other bourbons like nothing I’ve experienced. Knob creek is my favorite but after this is tasted way different. And not nearly as good.....
