All you expect in a good rye. Spice, some
Fruit, and almost a brown butter flavor. Having tried Texas Bourbons and Ryes, I really think the high temperature aging works works better with Ryes. Excellent Rye Whiskey.
Complex aromas of dark chocolate, dark pumpernickel rye bread, French roast black coffee, buttered pecans, and cedarwood greet the nose. The entry is warm with flavors of 100% rye crackers, dark chocolate, and toffee. The finish features notes of toffee, French dark roast coffee, and hot cinnamon.
I like ryes a lot and this was very disappointing. Tasted extremely young and got more corn flavor than I was expecting. That being said, it did drink below its ABV.
