Balvenie 16 Year French Oak Pineau Cask Finish

Cool to see this the wild. The funky nutty quality really comes out

This one has a little higher ABV giving it more heat than most Balvenie’s. Still, a very floral Balvenie with some heat at the back end.

Sweet up front, dry finish, nice grapefruits and savory mustiness

Harsh on the nose for me - oaky spices, grass, ginger, black pepper and apple cider. A drop of water releases richer flavors and smells as vanilla and some dried fruits. Yet again, as with the 12 DoubleWood, there is a short finish. There is quite unpleasant for me pepper and oaky finish.
