This bottling is the first organic rum produced in the Dominican Republic where this rum brand is based. It is made with organic sugarcane which was grown on the Ron Barceló estate and is distilled from fresh sugarcane juice, not molasses just like the rest of their rums.
After distillation, the rum is aged in new American oak barrels before blending and bottling. Available nationwide in the US as of April 2022.

Tasting Notes
"The nose exhibits a traditional rum aroma profile of roasted coffee beans, brown sugar, and sweet spices. There is a slight acetone element in the nose that is more pronounced on the midpalate, which otherwise tastes of sweetened coffee, brown sugar, and cinnamon. A woodsy bitterness floats into the finish, which is a bit thin. This rum is probably best for Cuba Libres and other cocktails, but if a bit of rum funkiness is called for, this one will need a bit of backup. "
