Portland's own Eastside Distilling released two new products in the summer of 2015: Barrel Hitch American Whiskey and this Barrel Hitch ‘Oregon Oak’ American Whiskey.
Both are sourced whiskeys from select barrels, with the latter finishing in barrels made from Oregon oak, a drought-tolerant tree species native to the Pacific Northwest.

"The whisky is so spicy it could almost be used as a condiment! Cinnamon, clove, allspice, nutmeg, black pepper, cardamom, oregano, cayenne dominate the palate. Charcoal, vanilla, and brown sugar only peek through toward the hot and somewhat abrupt finish. "
