Spicey first taste but then great

Very strong (even on the rocks), but great flavors. Would like to try near with a couple drops of water.

Ok, this bourbon was a present - it’s a little outside my normal price range. Having said that, I may need to rethink that rule for some special occasions. Love the full flavor and nice spice. I don’t taste as much vanilla as Expert but it’s there nonetheless. Great flavors- caramel, oak. Great finish - lingers nicely on pallet. I’ll repeat for right occasion.

Tasting the 2018-02 “Backyard BBQ” bottling. Nose is very soft with loads of vanilla, caramel with some underlying cherry notes. Silky smooth mouthfeel, and a bit spicier on the finish but nothing close to what you’d expect from a 128.8 proof spirit. A touch of smokiness and woody character along with leather rounds out the sweetness of the vanilla and caramel.
