Eagle Rare 17 Year Bourbon (Fall 2013)

Buffalo Trace // Kentucky, USA

4 out of 5 stars

Once a year, the Buffalo Trace Distillery releases a grip of 5 labels, forming the Voltron that is the Antique Collection. Hard to find, but easy to drink, the Eagle Rare 17 is one of the best of the Antiques. Some may call it a watered down version of George T. Stagg, but that's not a bad thing.

Tasting Notes

"Complex doesn't cut it for the nose, with English breakfast tea, cherries, nutmeg, and cinnamon. A palate of tobacco, leather, almond, clove, and pepper finds its way to a truly lengthy finish of citrus, additional almond and a return visit from the cherries."
