Bourbon Whiskey #1 (That Boutique-y Whiskey Co.)

Sometimes peanuts, sometimes cherry, and all the time cedar blocks or chips in the aroma. Moderately sweet on the palette, with a hint of wallpaper paste. Despite the description, I actually do like this bourbon. 3 cl sample from The Premium Whisky Advent Calendar (2020 Edition).

Nose is cherry and a load of oak Palate is woody and spicey and if I didn’t know better I’d have argued this was a rye. The finish is short with continued spice. The abv kicks home on the finish also! Oocha.

It’s decent. 20+ years is too long for new oak. I have the same criticism for pappy 23.

Nose: cherry and wet oak. Taste: vanilla cherry and oak, I can feel the abv at the end. The taste your mind expects in a bourbon. Cherry lingers.

smells like a wet sauna. Almost like how bourbon smells if you leave it out all night. Tastes like wet mushy wood. almost like the smell/flavor of a toothpick or popsicle stick that's been chewed over for too long. No alcohol taste. Tastes more like wood pulp than a whiskey
