The nose is sweet, with syrup and vanilla. There's a slight wine scent as well as some dark fruit. The palate is thick, very rich, sweet and syrupy, somewhat smokey, with a bit of dry wine, and some dustiness. There is a faint maraschino cherry flavour. The finish is fairly dry, very smooth, and the Sherry really shines on the end. This would be one of my top three whiskys.
