Broken Barrel Reserve Oak Series Finished with Stout Beer Barrel Staves

Strong vanilla on the nose with a slight hint of almond. First sip has chocolate (which is a change from the nose) and pine nuts. Ice adds to chocolate and pulls some char into the conversation. Not spicy or strong for a higher proof. I like this one and recommend it if you can find it.

Burn with a big ethanol taste. Ice doesn’t change the flavor like most.

Tried at a whiskey bar. One of the more complex bourbons. Nose is the sourness of the stout beer, with citrus, chocolate, and leather. Palate is a rich sweet desert of salted dark chocolate, caramel, oranges, leather, earth. This thing has layers. Finish is long and full with the citrus and bitter dark chocolate. Going to have to find a bottle to explore more
