I admit - I was skeptical of an Islay malt with no peat. Boy, was I wrong. This is a delicious, rich, complex malt - the nose is what I'd expect from an island/maritime malt, with lemon peel, sea spray, and some floral and vanilla notes. On the palate, this shines bright - citrus, salt, not-overly-sweet vanilla, herbal and floral notes, and a savory malt character. It has a nice, long linger, too. Truly a classic.
