Bunnahabhain 12 Year

Nose: very pleasant. Sherry sweetness. Salted caramel. Faintest hint of smoke. Palate: sweet arrival. Salted caramel popcorn. Smoke hits mid-palate and finishes with some sweet red fruits and damp earth. For the money, I have yet to find a better everyday sipper.

A sweet sherry taste. Vanilla, cherries, and cream. Slight salted caramel undertones. Some smoke and oak notes. A nice blend of sweet and wood.

First notes of Carmel and leather, heavy peat light smoke on the finish

Super layered, so much so that I’m having a hard time pinning down permanent notes. Generally on the nose I’m getting some lemon/apple citrus while also on a beach with a leftover fire in the morning (weird but it’s what I’m getting). Also some vanilla-butterscotch. Tasting it it’s more subdued but briny, slightly sweet, like desiccated fruit. With a lingering sea breeze. But again, I’m getting something new every time I go in.

Nose: apples, caramel, cinnamon Palate: apple pie, cinnamon Finish: some butterscotch, fairly short If this had a longer finish/more peat it would be really nice. At 3ppm the peat just adds a little bit of earthiness. Pretty good overall, would be nice in the fall.
