Tasting Notes
"The sherry influence dominates the aroma with a trail mix of aromas — dried fruits, toasted nuts, pretzels. There's also a bit of a musty aroma that sherry casks often bring. The malt whisky aroma can still be found, albeit at a moderate intensity. As you taste, the whisky is fruit-forward like the aroma, but it's more bittersweet than sticky sweet like the sherry casks used here. This is a good thing. The finish is medium plus in length and it finishes with barrel spices carrying you 'til the end. Serve with some aged cheddar or mature Manchego."
