Calumet Farm 16 Year Single Rack Black Bourbon

Too much oak for my taste buds, it overpowered the notes from the mash bill for me.

Nose was complex with a bit of cherry on top of rye and oak notes. The taste had a lot going on, initially spicy, oaky, grassy and rye forward it then moved into a swirl of flavors and heat before settling back into a dark cherry flavor that was slightly medicinal. The cherry hung around for a substantial finish. Its a very unique offering and one im glad I tried.
