Calumet Farm 16 Year Single Rack Black Bourbon

I like the 10 and really like the 16. The 106 proof adds a bite to this sweet dram but also allows for it to be enjoyed on the rocks. Cinnamon, butterscotch, chocolate, spice and smoke combine in a deliciously versatile offering from Calumet. A bit expensive for what you get though.

NOSE wow, amazing sweet oak, cherry, vanilla, chocolate covered cherry, barrel char PALETTE Red fruit, char, sweet vanilla oak, chocolate, orange peel, walnut FINISH Long, syrupy, full mouth cost, oily, chocolate covered cherry, walnut Great bottle, nose is up there all time, has that great vanilla oaky profile.

Nose: smoky vanilla. Not Taste: Cherry, oak a little nutty and grass Finish: The finish is the best part of this bourbon. Its a nice thick bourbon that just stays with you, nice oak and cherry stays

Nose: not much there. I get some oak and a little cocoa Taste: the oak takes over. I get a note of chocolate with a touch of banana. Finsih: Here is where the age of this bourbon shows. The flovor of the banana stays with the oakyness just lingering around. Overall: With this being a 16 year old bourbon the price point is much better than others on the secondary market. It is a really good bourbon

This bourbon has the best banana note that I’ve tasted in a bourbon. It’s almost like a candied banana note then the brown sugar comes in with the rye spice. A lot is on this one, it’s very delicious! I always get a banana note on old forester which I appreciate but this banana note is so much more refined. It drinks around 95 proof and a lengthy finish. Great pour 94/100
