Caol Ila 25 Year

Smokey, vanilla, oak, so smooth. Beautiful

Nose is briney and salty with hints of the sherry finish. Palate is smokey with pear, apricot, vanilla, and oak. Finish leaves me hanging a bit, but overall solid.

Second tasting. Ok. Very subdued peat, some sweet notes. That wood is coming through strong. Not my cup of tea.

One of the great single-malts of the world with a wonderful price point. By the way; if you know you don’t like the smoky/peaty scotches of Islay, then do us a favor and don’t rate them. It’s useless information to say you knew before tasting you weren’t going to like it and then give it a one star.
