Tasted May 16, 2022One of the great single-malts of the world with a wonderful price point. By the way; if you know you don’t like the smoky/peaty scotches of Islay, then do us a favor and don’t rate them. It’s useless information to say you knew before tasting you weren’t going to like it and then give it a one star. -

Tasted December 28, 2021First tasting against 4 other caol ila expressions. Disappointing. Lots of wood notes essentially with subdued peat and sweeter notes. Some floral, faint, mostly in the nosing thankfully. Like a very woody laphroaig 16 but far inferior to that dram. The caol ila 12 is a better expression at first blush. -

Tasted June 23, 2021musky smoke, heat, high pep, complexity, pear, non-red fruits - the high heat is a bit much for me despite it being a 43.5% ABV 2 smoothness, low heat initially but the heat will increase in time with more oaky, woody tannin, high heat bitterness, medicinal, 2 oaky woody, some smoke 2 2 creamy, complexity, low pep oaky raisin, grapes, high pep actually 2 strong oaky, briny, you get a very strong caol ila signature sour dough, complexity, oily, woody oaky, lacks any kind of sweetness or red fruits - it's heavy bourbon you can tell in an instant 2.25 woody and oaky finish 2
