RyeUnlike bourbon, rye whiskey can be made anywhere in the world. But if made in the US, the mash bill recipe must be at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels with no age requirement. Elsewhere, the rye whiskey will be made keeping the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.
Tasting Notes
"Candied orange slices, violets, and butterscotch show at the forefront of the nose, along with chrysanthemum bud and watermelon Jolly Ranchers. The palate is drier than the nose would suggest, offering honeydew melons, powdered sugar, peanut shells, cinnamon, ginger snaps, and astringent oak. The finish is short, showcasing fresh mint, pine, and burnt caramel. One of the more unique ryes you'll find today."
