Chichibu IPA Cask Finish

Ichiro's Malt Chichibu IPA Cask Finish 2017 Release An intense, Japanese Single Malt Whisky by the Hanyu Distillery; matured in a bourbon barrel before being finished in an IPA barrel; with an outrun of 6700 bottles. For this 2017 IPA Cask Finish, the distillery worked together with Japanese beer brewers (like Shigakogen). The brewers were granted wooden casks from Chichibu for aging their IPA in & after that Chichibu finished this whisky for a couple of months. It has an aromatic birth with notes of grain, wood, fruits, herbs & spices; while a sweet life adds notes of oak, smoke, honey, hoppy bitterness, lemon zest & malt; that led to a long & complex death with notes of pear, apple pie & cereal. June 2018 / March 2019 / August 2022

Very interesting rich, fruity, and refreshing dram with notes of grapefruit, citrus, honey, orange, pineapple, passion fruit, hops, vanilla, white chocolate, malt, peach, and floral notes.
