Paul Giraud Cognacs routinely exceed the minimum age for the classifications designated, often by many years. Their VSOP is aged for 8 years, which is double the minimum. It is aged in Limousin oak in humid aging cellars and color is never added to their products.
CognacBrandy distilled in a delimited region within France from specific grapes. Must be double-distilled to no higher than 72% abv. Required to be aged in oak for at least 2 years. Also, if labeled as the following, minimum aging is: VS-2 years, VSOP-4 years, Napoléon 6 years, XO-10 years (as of April 2018).

"Golden tones with hints of amber characterize the look of this VSOP. Earthy and woody on the nose, with warm baking spices and crystallized sugar. Vanilla tones carry over on to the palate, giving way to caramel and a light honeyed finish."
