Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Barrel Proof Bourbon

Dynamic bourbon. Oak on the nose with some subtle sweetness. High proof but nose doesn’t show it. Rich flavors hit the mouth immediately. Long pepper hit on the back that hangs deliciously.

127 proof. Very smooth balance flavor. Lots of heat in chest. Splash of water becomes sweet/fruit. Cuts the burn with water. Dry fruit botanical. Mint rye and allspice lots of oak. Leather tobacco.

The high alcohol content is at the front of the nose but there is a trace of sweet prunes. Take your time with this whiskey. It's very spicy and grabs the tip of your tongue, but the sweetness I find in Taylor is there. Not a flavorful finish but the heat does grab you in the chest after a pause. Very nice.
