Compass Box Juveniles

Juveniles is such an appropriate name for this. Way too young; needed more time in the cask, especially after blending. Peaches, honey...some burn. Really not much to write about, except I’m glad I only bought a small 3cl sample. At $110 per bottle, it’s not worth it. Maybe made to mix?

This review is after my fourth or fifth pour from this bottle which I purchased a few months ago. Light lemon/orange, honey and mint on the nose. The taste reminds me of pear and mild apple with a white chocolate and oak finish. Compass Box really finds a way to make every expression they produce special.

I like the fruit a lot, but the herbal character is what holds it back for me. It’s a good amount of wax, but not overdone. I don't mind a dry whisky, but this just leaves me wanting. Nose: Waxy nut, apple, citrus fruit, vanilla, honey, slight malt Palate: Vanilla, herbal, pepper, cereal grain, citrus fruit, wax Finish: Medium long, dry, clingy, pepper spice Mouthfeel: Dry, almost effervescent

👃 On the nose I get orchard fruits, especially pears and a little vanilla. 👅 A smooth mouth feel, sweet pears and peaches quickly turn to a... 🏁 finish of warming vanilla and pepper which is clean and doesn’t linger too long.

Very light colour with slight blush. Nose: bright, bright! Toffee, apple, vanilla, floral. Palate: green, herbal, honey, apples. Creamy and then thins out. Finish: vanilla sweetness, then oak, apples, pepper. Really good dram, but no way I’m paying the price tag.
