Connemara Original Peated Single Malt

I’m usually not a huge fan of peat, but I was pleasantly surprised. Smooth, light flavor of a Irish whiskey, but has a great peated flavor with some sweetness.

Should pretty much be a scotch. Doesn’t have the traditional burn that scotches have. Smooth, well balenced finish.

Smoke and peat, with the freshness of irish whiskys would be a good summary. The aftertaste is what impressed me the most, with its more sweet and fresh flavors lingering for a while after the smoke and peat initial flavors diminished. A great surprise and an immediate favorite. Definitely a must try for any fan of irish and smoky whiskys. Great served neat. On ice it tends to lose some of its lingering sweet and fresh flavors.
