Great introduction to someone new to bourbon. Easy drink, taste great, inexpensive. Call me crazy but, when it wore the blue label with white letters and the neck ring read toasted. IT WAS imo . the best purchased bourbon I've come across based on a quality/price ratio
Vanilla, oak, and leather.. Hints of fruit peel. Slightly nutty. Makes me think I’m in a leather chair in a den with books all around me with the smell of a good pipe tobacco wafting through the air.
Usual Brown Foreman profile, which to me is darker flavors accentuated with a slight nuttiness. Can never really go wrong. More brown sugar than vanilla. Almost like molasses. Some cinnamon, under ripe apple. Hints of pear or other white fruit. Slight ethanol. Not a lingering finish.
