Copper & Kings The History of Lovers Rose Gin
Copper & Kings // Kentucky, USA
The History of Lovers Rose Gin is made from a base of 100% apple brandy. Rose hips, rose water, sweet orange, tangerine, lime & pink grapefruit peels, jasmine & lavender petals, coriander, pink peppercorns, and licorice root along with the requisite juniper berries are macerated in an apple brandy low-wine. Next the distillate goes through vapor-distillation with rose hips and pink grapefruit peels in the basket. Then the distilled gin is quickly macerated with rose hips, hibiscus petals, and strawberry juice concentrate giving it a natural pink hue.
Distilled GinThis style of gin takes a neutral spirit and then adds juniper berries and other natural flavorings before it is re-distilled. After distillation, additional flavors (artificial or natural) and sweeteners may be added.
"Roses and violets kick off the floral nose alongside lychee and orange blossom. The palate moves into spicy-zesty territory, with rose hips, potpourri, dried citrus peels, and zingy pink peppercorns. The finish is drying and perfumed, with some residual heat that feels like a light touch of numbing Szechuan pepper."
