Nose: Insanely sweet. Heavy apple cider, some lavender. Agave is still present, however.
Palate: Incredibly interesting. Straight buttery sweetness. The apple is still present. Strangely enough, its like biting into a caramel apple.
Finish: This tequila becomes somewhat spicy on the finish. It takes on a slight agave quality on the backend. The fruit comes back in heavy in the back of your throat.
Overall a very interesting tequila. Much sweetier and fruitier than anything I've ever tasted. A bargain for the price, but much too unique and un-tequila like to recommend.
It's interesting. I tend to compare my incoming bottles to my outgoing bottles, and tonight I'm comparing this to Olmeca Altos Blanco. And they couldn't really be much more different. Whereas Olmeca is a linear, exuberant agave, this is a mellow, lightly spicy and herbaceous number. Both quite good in their own way, particularly considering the price.
