Nose: Mild and slightly sweet nose with heather, honey and some vanilla. Gradually also showing quite a bit of peat.
Taste: Rounded, nicely balanced, with a certain richness but still on the mild side. Well made and balanced with just enough bite to it.
My first introduction to decent scotch. I've had far better scotch since, but this is a fine introduction to scotch. Not too peaty. A nice level of sweetness. Not very complex.

Nose: Floral honey with hints of toffee. Barley hits nicely. Water adds some pepper into the mix.
Taste: Tea, malt and crispy citrus. Sugared barley really dominates the palate.
Finish: Nutty and malty finish with spices. Water adds bitterness.
Balance: Not a complex one but still a great single malt. Malt really is the keyword here.
