Del Maguey Tepextate Mezcal
Mezcal Joven
Del Maguey // Oaxaca, Mexico
Tepextate is a most peculiar type of agave. It is one of the largest varietals, taking roughly 25 years to reach maturity.
Its leaves are wide and dramatic, twisting unpredictably as though they were a reflection of the mountainous cliffs to which they cling. Not much is known about this particular mezcal as Del Maguey considers the maestro too valuable to disclose anything about him/her or their whereabouts.

Tasting Notes
"The nose is a bit unexpected with a blast of anise supported with lemon and black pepper. Its taste is a bit more typical (but certainly not boring) with vibrant notes of guava, Meyer lemon zest, and hint of fresh mint. It is vibrant, refreshing and profoundly crowd pleasing. "
