Eagle Rare 17 Year has been a part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection since the collection was first released in 2000. Like George T. Stagg, Eagle Rare is also made with a low-rye bourbon recipe. For the Fall 2025 release, barrels aged 18 years and 4 months were selected exceeding the 17 Year age statement.
Since 2018 it has been bottled at 101 proof as a tribute to when the brand was first launched in 1975. Availability begins in October 2025 at select retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $149.99. .

Tasting Notes
"There is a spicy sassafrass root beer element to both the nose and palate, with subtle aromas of sage and bay leaf. Herbal flavors also coat the palate, which has a toasted sesame seed nuttiness adding to notes of caramel and apricot fruit leather. The finish is at once spicy, sweet, and fruity with that underlying root beer note adding further nuance. "
