Echlinville Irish Pot Still Gin
Echlinville // Northern Ireland
Rather than using the customary neutral grain spirit, Echlinville Irish Pot Still Gin has a base spirit made from homegrown floor malted barley. This small batch gin is produced in County Down and botanicals include gorse flower petals, lavender, anise, sweet kelp, coriander and juniper.
Modern GinAlso has been referred to as "Contemporary", "New Western", "New Wave", and "New American". This style is not legally defined. In general, this category of gin, while it does contain juniper, places less of an emphasis on this botanical. Other botanicals not classically used in London Dry gins are often utilized and often highlight botanicals grown in the region the gin is produced. Most produced as either London Dry or Distilled Gins.
"The nose immediately jumps into notes of coriander and lemongrass, but also wet cloth and a touch of nettle. Finally there's a whiff of marzipan, but very subtle. There are big juniper notes on the palate, as well as pepper corns, but also soft floral and citrus notes."
