Eden Mill Hop Gin
Eden Mill // Lowlands, Scotland
As being Scotland's first combined brewery and distillery, Eden Hill has combined its experience in the beer and spirit making process to create this expression. Their Hop Gin is made with several botanicals, including juniper berries, angelica, and coriander, that are normally used for producing gin. An additional botanical, Australian Galaxy hops, normally used for beer production, are also added to produce the final product. It's bottled at 46% ABV.
Flavored GinA gin flavored, either naturally or artificially with the (pre)dominant flavor(s) listed on the label.
"One’s enjoyment of this gin will correlate directly to their enjoyment of hoppy beer. That is, if an American IPA is your quaff of choice this gin may become your new favorite distillate. Unfortunately the rest of the world may not even recognize this as gin at all. The classic botanical aromatics are hijacked by the assertive weedy/citrusy flavor of the hops and unfortunately the infusion process has also imparted a slightly off/chemical character that detracts from what was surely a great gin base. This bottle is far from typical, but perhaps a pleasant change of pace for hoppy beer fiends."
