Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel Bourbon

Nose: Super smoky with vanilla behind it. Palate: it tastes like smoky oak with a vanilla after taste. Not a daily drinker but a perfect bourbon to sit by a campfire with. Finish: medium long vanilla finish. Water?: no. It makes it less interesting. It does bring the vanilla finish to the front.

Very sweet nose, strong sweet carmel flavor maybe even some vanilla and cherry. Finish spicy like the original small batch but more complex. Not as sweet as private barrel was

Light bodied easy sipper. Subtle nose, medium finish. Initially nose like cherry cough medicine but opened up to vanilla. Palette fairly representative of nose. Few surprises. Finish had some chocolate notes. “Toasted” element not really coming through.

Allocated where I live and picked this up for $55 bottle when I saw it in stock. Neat, rocks glass: It's a fairly one dimensional bourbon but man do I love it. This bourbon is all toasted marshmallows roasted over a campfire with hints of oak and baking spice throughout. Nice finish that lingers quite a while. Decent mouth feel but nothing exceptional considering the low proof. I wouldn't put this over ice but i think it make a decent, albeit sweet, old fashioned.
