Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel Bourbon

Too much oak on Palate. Bitter. This one will be my last bottle.

Slightly dissapointed in this one. Off the nose, first thing i noticed was the oak and creamy vanilla and baking spices. First thing that came to mind was that it smelled a bit like egg nog almost. All of that up front with sour apple underlying the vanilla. The flavor profile was pretty simple. The oak comes through immediately and lingers, sort of off putting like a fresh piece of wood. Caramel/brown sugar and spices mid-finish. Overall its thin with a short finish leaving more to be desired. Ill stick to the OG single barrel.

Smoothe vanilla all the way through

Light body, with bitter notes. Does not show any of the Elijah Craig traits i love. Not a favorite. Definitely not one I will buy again. Small batch is a staple, but not this.
