Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel Bourbon

Thanks to a buddy in Oregon for sending me a substantial sample. Can’t find this in my area, at least not for a reasonable price. Tasting: Take ECSB and add extra vanilla and toffee. Tasty for sure. Worth MSRP.

Caramel, Vanilla, Oak

Strong vanilla taste. Toasted marshmallows. Great bourbon smell on empty glass. A little thinner with an astringent taste on some sips (almost scotch like).

Aroma: pretty weak, hints of citrus, apple, charred wood Flavor: sweet apples, menthol, and a huge amount of charred wood. Doesn't really have a sweet oak I was hoping for instead it's just really woody Overall: Not a fan at all of this one, it's just way too wood forward and to me doesn't mesh with the fruit flavors I do get
